When reading through the essay all I could think
about is a photo of a concert that I went to back in October. It brought back
the memories of the concert and it was all that was on my mind. It brought back
the thought of sitting in the seat and waiting for my first ever concert to
begin. It being my first ever concert made me extremely excited and when
looking back at the photos tehy reminded me of just that. When the author said
that images are multisensory, I whole heartedly agree. The photo of the concert
made me feel like I was there again. It reminded me of smell of beer from the
girls that were sitting next to me, the lights that were flashing on stage and
from the lightsticks that some of the fans where, the wet feeling of sweat from
my palms (since I was so excited and sweat from wearing a sweater), the sound
of the music that I’ve always listen to on a computer but now hearing live and
it even reminds me of the taste of the gum that I was chewing (bubblegum mint).
It was an experience that was brought up again just by looking at a digital
image. So we should definitely consider more than just sight, even when looking
at images because other senses are bound to come up.
